Does Fomo Family have copy trading?
Not in the automated sense. On platforms such as eToro or some crypto bots, "copy trading" means your account mirrors another trader's positions automatically. Fomo does not do that. What Fomo offers is social following: you follow traders, their buys and sells appear in your feed with their reasoning, and you can get an alert the moment they trade. You then decide whether to place the same trade, and you do it yourself.
This distinction matters. Manual following means you will always be later than the trader you follow, sometimes by seconds and sometimes by minutes. On a meme coin that can be the difference between profit and loss.
How following works
- Open a trader's profile from the feed, a leaderboard or a token's holder list.
- Tap follow. Optionally enable alerts for that trader.
- Their trades appear in your feed with the token, size, chain and any thesis they wrote.
- Tap a trade to open the token page and buy or sell yourself.
You can follow friends too; a friends-only feed filter was added in September 2025, and the app shows mutual followers.
How the leaderboard works
Leaderboards rank traders by realised profit over a chosen window (daily, weekly, monthly, all-time) and can be filtered by chain. Realised profit means closed trades; unrealised gains on open positions are shown on the profile but do not drive the rank. That has two implications:
- A trader at the top of the daily board may have one enormous win and many small losses.
- The all-time board favours early users and large accounts, not necessarily better decision-makers.
How to pick traders worth following
Look at these five things on a profile before following:
- Consistency over time. Is the P&L curve smooth or one spike? Check the monthly and all-time views.
- Number of trades. Fifty trades tell you more than five.
- Position size relative to yours. A whale's $50,000 buy moves a token; your $50 buy after them buys at their price impact.
- Holding period. Traders who exit within minutes cannot be followed manually with any hope of the same result.
- Theses. Traders who write a reason for each trade are easier to learn from and less likely to be gambling.
Names change constantly, so we do not publish a "best traders on Fomo" list. Any site that does is out of date within a week.
The mistakes that cost followers money
- Buying alerts late. By the time you see the alert, the trader may already be selling into your buy.
- Copying size. Copying a $10,000 trader with $100 means fees and slippage take a much larger share.
- Following "insiders". Accounts that seem to buy right before a token pumps may be launching the token themselves. Watch whether they sell into their followers.
- Ignoring the exit. Traders rarely alert their followers before selling. Set your own exit.
- Following too many traders. Alerts from 30 accounts produce noise, not signal.
Using the social layer well
The best use of Fomo's social features is research. See which tokens experienced traders are accumulating, read their theses, look at holder distribution, then make your own decision at a size you can afford to lose. Treat the leaderboard the way you would treat a stock forum: a source of ideas to check, not instructions.
Frequently asked questions
Can you copy trade on the Fomo app?
Not automatically. You can follow traders and get alerts, then place the trade yourself.
Who are the best traders to follow on Fomo?
It changes constantly. Use the monthly and all-time leaderboards, then check consistency, trade count and theses on each profile rather than trusting the rank.
Can I hide my trades from followers?
Fomo lets you control what is shared from your profile settings; check the current options in the app.
Do top traders on Fomo make money from followers?
Not directly through the app. Some may benefit if followers buy tokens they hold, which is why you should check whether they sell shortly after their buys are posted.
