4.1/5 · Excellent for social token discovery and fast multi-chain trading; weaker on fee transparency, fiat off-ramps and long-term investing tools.

Quick verdict

The Fomo Family app is the best-executed social crypto trading app we have tested. Sign-up takes under a minute, trades on six chains execute from one balance with the fee shown before you confirm, and the feed, leaderboards and trader profiles genuinely change how you discover tokens. The company is well funded and transparent about who runs it.

The drawbacks are real. Spot fees are quoted per trade rather than published as a single rate, so it is hard to compare costs in advance. There is no fiat bank withdrawal; you cash out by sending crypto to an exchange. And the design, from one-tap buying to leaderboards, nudges you toward frequent trading of highly volatile tokens. Suitable for engaged traders who understand early-stage token risk; unsuitable as a long-term investing platform.

What is Fomo?

Fomo is a social crypto trading app from Fomo Labs Inc., available on iOS, Android and the web. It launched in May 2025, added Base, BNB Chain and Monad through late 2025, launched a web app in April 2026 and added perpetual futures in June 2026. The company has raised about $94M from Benchmark, Index Ventures and Union Square Ventures. Read the full explainer if you are new.

Features

Social feed

The feed shows real trades from people you follow, your friends, and top traders, with an optional "friends only" filter. Trades carry a thesis, comments and reactions. Because every post is tied to an on-chain trade, there is less empty hype than on X or Telegram, though a big account buying a token can still move a price quickly.

Trader profiles and leaderboards

Profiles show realised P&L, history and current holdings. Leaderboards rank traders by profit across chains and time windows. This is useful due diligence: you can see whether someone's gains come from one lucky trade or from consistent performance. See copy trading and leaderboards.

Alerts

Follow a trader and you get a push notification when they buy or sell. Alerts are the feature most likely to make you overtrade; we recommend keeping them limited to a handful of traders.

Token discovery and charts

Trending tokens, new launches, featured sections, token filters and TradingView charts (added April 2026) are built in. Holder data and dynamic P&L overlays on charts help judge a token's distribution before buying.

Cross-chain trading

One USD-denominated balance buys tokens on Solana, Base, Ethereum, BNB Chain, Monad and Robinhood Chain. No bridging, no per-chain gas tokens to manage. Dollar presets ($10, $50, $100...) make one-tap buying fast.

Perpetuals

Perps run on Hyperliquid and Trade.xyz with a 0.05% Fomo fee. You can go long or short on crypto, indices, commodities and some equities, with the social layer attached to each position.

Web app

The web app, launched April 2026, mirrors the mobile account and balance and adds larger charts. There is no native Windows or Mac app; see web app and desktop.

Deposits

Deposits are on-chain: the app shows an address for a specific network, and you send the exact asset on that network. Apple Pay deposits go through the Coinbase onramp, which adds card and provider fees and is limited by region. See deposits and withdrawals.

Withdrawals

Withdrawals go to any external wallet address on a supported network. Fomo does not publish a withdrawal fee of its own; network gas applies. There is no direct withdrawal to a bank account, so you send stablecoins to an exchange to cash out. Community reports on withdrawal speed are mostly positive, with occasional "verification issue" reports that were resolved through support.

Fees

Spot fees are variable and shown on the confirmation screen. Early reports of a flat ~$1 fee and a 0.5% rate have circulated; the current terms describe a quote-based fee that depends on size, token and routing. Perps carry 0.05% per transaction plus protocol fees and funding. A referral code gives 10% off eligible Fomo fees. Our fees page has worked examples.

Ease of use

Onboarding is the best we have seen in crypto: email or Apple/Google sign-in, biometric lock, no seed phrase to manage at sign-up, and a balance that works everywhere. The trade-off is that convenience hides complexity; new users may not realise they are trading illiquid tokens on decentralised venues.

Pros and cons

Pros

  • Social discovery in one place: feed, profiles, leaderboards, alerts
  • Six chains from one balance, no bridging
  • Unified mobile and web account
  • Fee shown before every trade; published fee policy in the terms
  • Well-funded, publicly known founders and investors
  • Built-in TradingView charts and tax export

Cons

  • No single published spot fee rate; costs vary per trade
  • Small trades can be relatively expensive
  • No fiat bank withdrawals
  • Leaderboards and alerts encourage copying risky short-term positions
  • Asset universe is dominated by high-volatility meme coins
  • Country availability is patchy; see countries

Risks

  • Market risk: most tokens on Fomo are early-stage and can go to zero.
  • Behavioural risk: one-tap trading and social signals make overtrading easy.
  • Custody risk: the wallet is non-custodial, which means you are responsible for account security.
  • Impersonation risk: fake Fomo apps and support accounts are common. See Is Fomo Family legit?.

Final verdict

If you want to trade new tokens with the benefit of seeing what skilled traders are doing, Fomo Family is the strongest app in its category. Keep deposits to money you can lose, check the fee on every confirmation screen, and ignore the leaderboard for anything but research.
