The current Fomo fee structure

Fomo's terms of service describe a fee that is calculated per transaction and displayed before you confirm. There is no single published spot percentage. In practice the cost you see on the confirmation screen is made up of several parts, and only one of them is Fomo's own fee.

Cost item Who charges it Applies to Referral discount applies?
Fomo platform fee (spot) Fomo Labs Every spot buy and sell Yes (10% off)
Fomo platform fee (perps) Fomo Labs, 0.05% per transaction Opening and closing perps Yes (10% off, if eligible)
DEX / protocol fee Liquidity pools, Hyperliquid, Trade.xyz Spot routing and perps No
Funding payments Perps market (paid between longs and shorts) Open perps positions No
Network gas Blockchain validators Every on-chain action No
Slippage The market Illiquid tokens, large orders No
Apple Pay / card fee Coinbase onramp and card network Apple Pay deposits No

Why there is no single headline percentage

Fomo routes each order across decentralised venues, and the cost depends on the token's liquidity, the chain, the order size and the route chosen. Rather than publish a rate that would be wrong for many orders, the app quotes the full cost per trade. Early community reports described a flat fee of roughly $1 per trade and, separately, a 0.5% rate; treat those as historical and check the confirmation screen for the number that applies to you today.

Worked examples

These are illustrations of the arithmetic, not quotes. Replace the fee with the one shown in your app.

Example 1: $50 spot buy on Solana

  • Fomo fee quoted: $0.90
  • Network gas: about $0.01
  • Slippage on a mid-liquidity token: about 0.5% = $0.25
  • Total cost to enter: about $1.16, or 2.3% of the order

Example 2: $1,000 spot buy on Base

  • Fomo fee quoted: $4.00
  • Network gas: under $0.05
  • Slippage: 0.3% = $3.00
  • Total cost to enter: about $7.05, or 0.7% of the order

Example 3: $500 perps position, opened and closed

  • Fomo fee: 0.05% × $500 × 2 = $0.50
  • Hyperliquid taker fees: roughly 0.035% × $500 × 2 = $0.35
  • Funding: depends on how long the position stays open and market conditions

The pattern is clear: small trades are proportionally expensive, large trades are cheap, and round trips double every fee. Frequency is the multiplier that matters most.

Network fees are separate

Fomo abstracts gas so you never need to hold SOL, ETH or BNB for gas, but the cost still exists and is folded into what you pay. Solana, Base, BNB Chain and Monad are cheap; Ethereum mainnet can cost several dollars per trade during congestion. See supported chains.

Deposit and withdrawal fees

Fomo does not publish a fee of its own for crypto deposits or withdrawals. You pay the network gas for the transfer. Apple Pay deposits go through the Coinbase onramp, which adds card processing and provider fees that are shown before you pay. There is no fiat withdrawal; see deposits and withdrawals.

Minimum deposit and minimum trade

There is no fixed minimum deposit published. Users report starting with as little as $20 to $50. Because of the way fees scale, we suggest treating $10 as the practical minimum per trade and $100 or more per trade if you want fees to stay under about 1% of the order.

How to check fees yourself

  1. Enter the amount you want to buy or sell.
  2. On the confirmation screen, look for the fee line and the "you receive" amount.
  3. Compare "you receive" with the market value of the tokens to see the total cost including slippage.
  4. If a referral code is applied, the discount should be visible as a reduced fee.

The 10% referral discount

Signing up through a referral link gives 10% off eligible Fomo fees. It does not reduce gas, protocol fees, funding or Apple Pay charges. Read Fomo Family referral code for how to apply one correctly.

Are Fomo fees high?

Compared with a large centralised exchange trading a major coin, yes: Coinbase Advanced or Binance charge 0.1% or less per side on liquid pairs. Compared with other meme coin terminals such as Axiom or GMGN, Fomo is in the same range. The right comparison is what you would otherwise pay to buy the same new token, which usually means a DEX plus a bridge plus gas on each chain. See alternatives.

What is the Fomo trading fee?

There is no fixed spot percentage. The fee is calculated per trade and shown before you confirm. Perps carry a 0.05% Fomo fee per transaction.

Does the Fomo app cost money to use?

The app is free. You pay only when you trade, deposit via Apple Pay or move funds on-chain.

Where can I see the exact fee before trading?
