Most "Fomo app not working" problems fall into one of eight categories. Find yours below, try the fixes in order, and escalate to in-app support only if none work. First, rule out a platform-wide outage by checking x.com/fomo and the Discord announcements channel; see support and status.

1. "Failed to buy"

Likely causes: slippage tolerance too low for the token's liquidity, liquidity pulled since you opened the page, chain congestion, or a token contract that blocks buys from certain routes.

Fixes:

  1. Refresh the token page and try again; prices on new tokens move in seconds.
  2. Reduce the order size.
  3. Raise slippage tolerance slightly, but not above what you would accept losing to a bad fill.
  4. Check the chain: if Solana or Base is congested, wait a few minutes.
  5. If every token fails, it is an outage or a routing provider issue, not you.

2. "Failed to sell"

Likely causes: the same as above, plus one important extra: the token may be a honeypot that lets you buy but blocks selling.

Fixes:

  1. Try selling a smaller percentage (25%) with higher slippage.
  2. Check the token on a scanner (for example, RugCheck for Solana or a token sniffer for EVM chains) for sell restrictions.
  3. If the token has liquidity and other holders are selling in the feed but you cannot, contact support with the transaction hash.
  4. If it is a honeypot, there is no fix; the loss is the token, not the app.

3. App not loading or stuck on the splash screen

  1. Force close the app and reopen.
  2. Check the App Store or Google Play for an update.
  3. Switch between Wi-Fi and mobile data; some networks block crypto RPC endpoints.
  4. Restart the phone.
  5. Try the web app at fomo.family. If the web app works, reinstall the mobile app.

4. Fomo app not working on iPhone after an iOS update

New iOS versions occasionally break older app builds. Update the app; if no update is available, use the web app until Fomo ships a compatibility release. Check that Face ID permission for the app is still enabled in iOS settings.

5. Login loop or "account not found"

You almost certainly signed in with a different method than at registration. Try each of Apple, Google and email with the same email address. On iPhone, Apple sign-in with "hide my email" creates a relay address; use Apple sign-in again rather than typing the email.

6. Balance wrong or missing tokens

  1. Pull to refresh; balances update from on-chain data and can lag briefly.
  2. Check the chain filter; a token bought on Base will not show under a Solana-only view.
  3. Look up your wallet address on the chain explorer to confirm the tokens are there.
  4. Very new or obscure tokens may display with no price until an indexer picks them up.

7. Apple Pay not working

Apple Pay deposits run through the Coinbase onramp. Failures are usually the card issuer declining crypto purchases, a regional restriction, a daily limit, or onramp downtime. Try another card, check the Coinbase email for the reason, or deposit crypto instead. See deposits and withdrawals.

8. "Degraded" banner

Fomo shows a degraded notice when a chain or routing provider is slow. Trades may fail or take longer. Wait for the banner to clear before trading illiquid tokens; the risk of bad fills is higher during degradation.

When to contact support

Contact in-app support if:

  • A deposit shows confirmed on the chain explorer but not in the app after 30 minutes.
  • A withdrawal shows complete in the app but no transaction hash exists.
  • A verification hold has not cleared after you completed the steps.
  • The same error repeats across all tokens for more than an hour with no outage notice.

Include your account email, the chain, the token and the transaction hash. Never share a seed phrase or private key with anyone, including people claiming to be support. See support.

Frequently asked questions

Is the Fomo app down right now?

Check x.com/fomo and Discord. If the web app at fomo.family loads and trades, the mobile issue is local to your device.

Why does Fomo keep failing to sell my token?

Most often the token has no real liquidity or blocks sells. Check it on a token scanner.

Why is my Fomo trade taking so long?

Chain congestion. Solana and Base are usually seconds; Ethereum can take minutes.
